Whether you’re interested in Fado, Folk, Opera, Oratorio, Plainchant or Post-Punk, join host Chloe Veltman every Friday night for five weeks from 10-11pm PST starting on May 29 for an eclectic exploration of the best of the vocal music scene from the Bay Area and beyond.

Here is a brief overview of the inaugural show:

MAY 29

To kick off KALW’s new vocal music series, VoiceBox, host Chloe Veltman will take listeners on a whistle-stop tour of some of the most distinctive voices from the Bay Area and elsewhere.

Eric Alatorre, the distinctive-voiced bass singer with the Grammy Award-winning all-male a cappella vocal ensemble Chanticleer, joins in Chloe in the studio to discuss his ensemble’s upcoming concert series entitled “The Divine Orlando” and the art of being an anchorman.

Currently in its pilot phase, VoiceBox will be broadcast on five consecutive Friday evenings on NPR affiliate KALW 91.7 FM San Francisco.
