Wednesday, June 10, 2009
Here we are at Episode Three of VoiceBox, NPR affiliate station KALW 91.7 FM's brand new radio show dedicated to the art of singing and the best of the vocal music scene. Thanks to all you listeners out there for supporting the show so far and for your wonderful feedback to broadcasts one and two.
Please join host Chloe Veltman this coming Friday from 10 - 11 pm PST for the next broadcast in this exciting new five-part pilot series.
VoiceBox becomes a playground this week when Chloe explores the sounds of some of the finest children’s choirs from the Bay Area and around the world.
Join Chloe and San Francisco Boys Chorus vocal instructor Jimmy Kansau for a discussion about training young voices and the chance to hear music by a wide range of ensembles from the South Bay-based Crystal Children’s Choir performing Chinese folk songs to London’s Capital Children’s Choir singing an unusual version of Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child o’ Mine.”
VoiceBox celebrates the art of song through highlighting the work of singers, composers, conductors and other amazing vocal music aficionados past and present. Whether you’re interested in Fado, Folk, Opera, Oratorio, Plainchant or Post-Punk, join host Chloe Veltman every Friday night for five weeks from 10-11pm PST starting on May 29 for an eclectic exploration of the best of the vocal music scene from the Bay Area and beyond.
VoiceBox will be broadcast on five consecutive Friday evenings on NPR affiliate KALW 91.7 FM San Francisco. You can also hear the show via live webstream at http://www.kalw.org.
