News about an exciting vocal music program in Italy:

UMBRIAN SERENADES: Choral & Cultural Tastings in the Green Heart of Italy
SPOLETO, ASSISI, SPELLO, ITALY - July 14-26, 2010

UMBRIAN SERENADES is a choral program that brings together passionate singers from all over the U.S. who seek opportunities to perform a cappella repertoire within a small vocal chamber ensemble. These choral enthusiasts come together to enhance their vocal, musicianship, and ensemble skills, as well as savor all that small medieval hilltop towns in the heart of Italy can offer culturally, be it wine, olive oil, cooking, or beautiful old buildings. The chamber ensemble performs sacred a cappella vocal works, spanning Renaissance, Gospel, Spiritual and contemporary repertoire in unique spaces throughout Umbria. For the 2010 summer session, Umbrian Serenades is happy to announce that Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt, Musical America 2004 Conductor of the Year, will lead the ensemble, as well as present a choral conducting master class with participants.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: MONDAY, JANUARY 11th, 2010
