Johann Sebastian Bach: Mass in B Minor July 18, 8 PM at the SF Conservatory of Music Concert Hall (San Francisco, CA)
Academy members (faculty and students) will perform with other American Bach Soloist musicians and the Academy Chorus for the premier of the annual summer performance of "Bach's ultimate testament to his art." Tickets range from $20-$40.

Shayna Steele July 16-17, 10:15 PM at The Rrazz Room at Hotel Nikko (San Francisco, CA)
Dennis McMillon from the San Francisco Bay Times describes the songwriter/singer Shayna Steele as ""Steele’s vocal style and original songs combine R&B, soul, and jazz, inspired by diverse talents such as Ella Fitzgerald, The Temptations, and Aretha Franklin." She has numerous names, including "disco screamer" and "electro diva."

Lauren Carley's Singers' Retreat August 15-20 at the Bishop's Ranch (Sonoma Valley, CA)

Schwabacher Summer Concert July 16, 7:30 PM at the Herbst Theater (San Francisco, CA)
"Conductor and Merola alumnus Mark Morash will lead members of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and director Ray Rallo, who directed the 2009 Schwabacher Summer Concert, returns this year to stage the production. This special concert includes a mixture of scenes from popular operas and lesser known gems, including Rodelinda, Werther, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, The Bartered Bride and The Merry Wives of Windsor."

Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly July 10-18 at Dean Lesher's Hofmann Theatre (Walnut Creek, CA)
Madama Butterfly, a tragic opera taking place in 1904 in Nagasaki, will be performed this summer by Festival Opera. It currently ranks as Number 1 in Opera America's list of the most performed operas in North America.
