"Serenade at Salle": Performers

The lineup of fabulous performers who have agreed to lend their vocal talents to the VoiceBox fundraiser at Salle Pianos on Wednesday, November 17 includes:


In alphabetical order:

Chanteuse Amanda King performing numbers from her jazz and cabaret repertoire: Hoagy Carmichael's "Rockin' Chair" and "Love for Sale" by Cole Porter

Tenor Ben Jones performing "The Lamb" and "The Piper" from Ten Blake Songs by Ralph Vaughan-Williams

Folk vocalist and children's choir coach Beth Wilmurt & members of the Community Music Center of San Francisco's Teen Chorus (Lily, Mia, Sadie and Anika) performing "Ohio" from "Wonderful Town" with music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, "Wild Mountain Thyme" arranged by Phil Merrill, "Down By the Riverside" arranged by Kirby Shaw and "Five Hundred Miles" by Hedy West.

Members of Clerestory, an all-male, a cappella vocal ensemble (Justin Montigne, Jesse Antin, Kevin Baum and James Monios) performing "O Quam Gloriosum" by Tomas Luis de Victoria and an arrangement of the Mexican folk song "La Llorona"

Opera and jazz singer Jimmy Kansau performing numbers from his Central and South American jazz-lounge repertoire including "Tonada del Cabrestero" (Song of the Cowboy) by Simon Diaz and "Vereda Tropical" by Gonzalo Curiel.

Mezzo-soprano Kindra Scharich performing songs from the German lieder repertoire by Johannes Brahms: "Wie Melodien" and "O K├╝hler Wald"

Singer-songwriter Lea Grant performing her own compositions for voice and piano: "Cities of Snow", "Earthbound" and "Life Vest."

Soprano and San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow Leah Crocetto performing "O Mio Babbino Caro" from Gianni Schicchi by Giacomo Puccini and "From Seamus" from Humanities by Gregory Peebles

Walter Askew (aka Salty Walt of Salty Walt and the Rattlin' Ratlines, a San Francisco-based maritime band) performing the ballad "Her Bright Smile Haunts me Still" and the sea chantey "Larry Marr."
