Blue Skies, Bluegrass, and Beyond, May 20 at 8 PM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church (Berkeley, CA)
"The 2010-2011 season concludes with Blue Skies, Bluegrass, and Beyond—an innovative program featuring Musae in collaboration with local bluegrass musicians. Familiar classic rock songs, Appalachian gospel hymns, and folksongs will appear alongside madrigals, part songs, and contemporary chansons. Musae celebrates the nature that grows around us with Cornysh's "Ah, Robyn," Lauridsen's "Dirait-on," and Delibes' stunning "Flower Duet" from Lakmé, turns to the sky with Stanford's "Blue Bird" and Benavides' "A bird came down the walk," and looks beyond with the bluegrass hymns "Angel Band," "Swing Low," and others."

Walk Like an Egyptian, May 7 at 1 PM at Restoration Workshop (630 Treat Ave) Mission District
"The festival is to raise money to help Zambaleta keep its classes going strong while they are in the process of relocating to a more suitable location. There are 19 incredible bands that are playing this event and a whole slew of people are coming together to make this event successful and (simply put) the best freaking time ever! We have a number of alcohol sponsors ( Lagunitas, Thirsty Bear ... ) and a number of restaurants providing food stands, so this is going to be a full fledged gathering/party."

The Choral Project, May 7 at 8 PM at 2121 Harrison Street (Oakland, CA)
"The Choral Project will be performing at the awe-inspiring Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, as part of their Musica Cathedralis Concert Series. Come hear the sublime acoustics of this magnificent structure as we perform secular and sacred music, including Knut Nystedt's powerful and virtuosic "Veni," John Paynter's evocative "The Rose," as well as music by Maurice Duruflé, Stephen Schwartz, and Eric Whitacre."
