Kitka, September 25 at 2 PM at UC Berkeley (Berkeley, CA)

"SANCTUARY: A CATHEDRAL CONCERT invites audiences to be immersed in uninterrupted flow of meditative and ecstatic songs from Eastern European spiritual traditions whose haunting melodies and rich harmonies soar in resonant space. This concert will invoke the rich and varied musical cultures of the Eastern Orthodox, Jewish, Islamic, and nature-centered traditions that coexist throughout the region. Kitka's program features traditional and contemporary Balkan, Slavic, and Caucasian (Georgian and Armenian) repertoire sung in more than twelve languages. Listeners will be transported by a continuous unfolding of songs expressing a dynamic range of emotion that flows seamlessly from ethereal, contemplative pieces to tunes that rouse with their earthy rhythms. "

Open Rehearsal for Opus Q, August 28 at 7 PM at the Julia Morgan Center

"The holiday concert will be held on December 20, 21 & 22 at the Julia Morgan Center. "Songs for A Winter's Night" will feature a variety of traditional and non-traditional holiday selections. Music by James Q. Mulholland, Morten Lauridsen, John Williams, and G.F. Handel will be featured alongside fun, upbeat versions of favorite holiday music, a Hebrew folksong, music for Kwanzaa, and Jazz standards."

Pacific Masterworks Chorus Auditions, September 7, 14, at the John Knox Presbyterian Church (Dublin, CA)

"The Pacific Masterworks Chorus is a new high level chorus just entering its second season based in Dublin / Pleasanton in the East Bay. We will be starting rehearsals in the next week and will be hosting auditions for perspective new members later in the month and into September."
